SEPULTURA- Andreas Kisser Fode A SepulReunion

I don’t like to talk too much smack on Andreas Kisser, because he’s a terrific guitar player and I have no real evidence that he’s a jerk or whatever; I’ve never really seen or heard about him doing anything super-douchey, unless you consider his part in the dissolution of the classic Sepultura line-up super-douchey, which you might. It does seem awfully funny that Max Cavalera left and the band basically never made anything good again, but that really just suggests that Max was the driving creative force behind the Sepulturawesomeness, not necessarily that Andreas Kisser should suck it.
But awhile back there was a rumor that there was gonna be a Sepultureunion, and now Max has told AltSounds that it almost happened – except a certain guitar player ended up mucking up the works:

It almost happened last year; I actually called Andreas myself and talked to him about it because I wanna do it, and I said ‘we should do it man, it’s the time’, and he said ‘let’s do it’. The next thing I know he has all these crazy demands, involving all these people that work for them and having him be the boss of everything, and I said ‘that’s not how it’s gonna be if it’s gonna happen’, and he started talking a lot about money and shit like that so I backed off. It’s not about the money, it’s about the name of the band and showing people what we were about when we were together, so now I’m not so sure. I don’t know if it’s gonna happen, I’m not worried about it, I think once people hear the new Cavalera Conspiracy album they are going to forget about the reunion, because it’s really powerful stuff.

While it’s silly of Max to say “it’s not about the money” when we all know it would be at least a little bit about the money, to be honest, I don’t need to hear the new Cavalera Conspiracy album to forget about the reunion – ’cause I basically forgot about the reunion after the first Cavalera Conspiracy album. Yes, it would be pretty cool to see the Cavaleras share a stage with Kisser and Paulo Jr. again, but Inflikted sounded exactly the way I’d want a modern Sep album to sound, which is to say, it sounded more like old Sep than anything that band or Soulfly have recorded in the post-Chaos A.D. era.
So, on the one hand, if Andreas Kisser is happier making forgettable albums about A Clockwork Orange than he is doing something anyone cares about, well, someone who smack him upside the head so he gets his shit straight. On the other hand, as long as 50% of the old Sepultura is making albums that sound like the old Sepultura, then I don’t really need the old Sepultura back. Old Sepultura.





Eu não gosto de falar muito no Andreas Kisser, porque ele é um guitarrista fantástico mas ele não passa de  um idiota, eu nunca vi ou ouvi falar , a menos que você considera a sua parte na dissolução dos clássicos Sepultura , o que você pode fazer . Parece muito engraçado que Max Cavalera saiu da banda e basicamente nunca fez nada de bom de novo, mas que na verdade, apenas sugere que Max foi a força motriz por trás da criatividade do Sepultura, não que necessariamente que Andreas Kisser deva copia-lo.

Mas algum tempo atrás havia um rumor de que ia haver uma Sepultureunion, e agora Max disse AltSounds que quase aconteceu - exceto um guitarrista acabou fodendo toda a estória.


Quase aconteceu no ano passado, eu realmente chamei Andreas e falei com ele sobre isso, porque eu quero fazer esta reunião , e eu disse 'nós devemoseste  que é o momento', e ele disse 'vamos fazer isso'. A próxima coisa que eu sei que ele tem todas essas exigências loucas, envolvendo todas estas pessoas que trabalham para eles e ser o chefe de tudo, e eu disse: "não é assim que vai acontecer", e ele começou a falar  muito sobre dinheiro e merdas como essa, então eu recusei . Não é sobre o dinheiro, é sobre o nome da banda e mostrando às pessoas o que nós  estávamos juntos, então agora eu não tenho tanta certeza. Eu não sei se isso vai acontecer, eu não estou preocupado com isso, eu acho que quando as pessoas ouvirem o álbum Cavalera Conspiracy eles vão esquecer o reencontro, porque é coisa muito poderosa

Então, por um lado, se Andreas Kisser é mais feliz fazendo álbuns esquecíveis sobre o filme  Laranja Mecânica fazendo algo que ninguém se preocupa, bem, alguém que quer bater  na cabeça assim que começa seu merda. Por outro lado,  50% do dos álbuns Sepultura soam como o Sepultura antigo, então eu realmente não preciso do Sepultura agora .

CONVERGE- Falando Sobre o Album "All We Love Leave Behind"

Every Converge album is a milestone in the heavy music community and the band's latest is the most integral album to date in a catalog that's celebrated to an almost religious degree by countless fans of punk, metal and hardcore. For the first time in years All We Love We Leave Behind is an album that contains no special guests or outside collaborators and every aspect of the music, production and

 aesthetics of the album was handled by Converge in order to give listeners an unfiltered glimpse into the creative vision of these Boston-based innovators.

Once again recorded and mixed by guitarist Kurt Ballou at his renowned Godcity Studios in Salem, Massachusetts, All We Love We Leave Behind is a no-frills Converge album that sees the band—which also features vocalist Jacob Bannon, bassist Nate Newton and drummer Ben Koller—eschewing fancy production techniques in order to create seventeen songs that work as a cohesive whole yet can also stand on their own. "There's no artificial distortion, triggers, or Auto-Tune on this album," Ballou explains, "it's all organic, it’s real sounds that capture the way the band performs live."

As one of the most established acts in heavy music Converge's ability to write and produce songs is now second nature, a fact that's obvious upon a cursory listen to All We Love We Leave Behind. "I think we really stepped up our game on this record. The most important thing to this band is that with every album we want to create something that excites us and moves us in some way," explains Bannon, who also crafted a 50-page book of original artwork inspired by the songs that accompanies the release. "There are a lot of subtle nuances on this record are really special to us and we definitely hit those individually on this record."

 

"All of our albums are emotional but I feel this is our most potent album to date," Bannon continues. "For me a songs like 'Predatory Glow' and ‘Empty on the Inside’ have a tone and resonance that communicates in a new way for our band," he adds, chalking up this ability to the fact that the group have become better songwriters by spending so much time on the road and in the studio perfecting their craft. "Success to me is creating something that's moving and fulfilling and I truly feel both of those things when I listen back and experience this album from start to finish." Converge have always been the type of band that never fit into one subculture and the band credit that to the fact that since their 2001 landmark album Jane Doe they haven't had any member changes. "I think because it's been the same four people for the past five records we've been able to really get comfortable with each other and develop our own personality," Ballou explains. "I don't listen to much music outside of what we've recorded so I think we're more influenced by our own history of playing together than what's currently happening in any scene."
