Bloody Hammers - Novo Album "Spiritual Relics" #Video #Metal

Straight out of Transylvania County (nice touch) is the debut album from BLOODY HAMMERS, an outfit whose brand of doom is as interesting as it is eclectic and as unique as it is refreshing. “Spiritual Relics” is a dynamic record that right out of the gate informs listeners that BLOODY HAMMERS are in this game to make their presence known and have no intention of being just another name in the over saturated market of Doom and Sludge Metal.

Organist Devallia’s playing compliments many of the pieces very well and gives early tracks like “At the Well of Nazareth” and “The Source” their paradoxically dark and vibrant personalities. These songs have character. They have a certain touch that other bands don’t simply because BLOODY HAMMERS do what so many bands forget to and use to their advantage the elements that make them unique. “At the Well of Nazareth’s” guitar tone, whether intentional or not, has a fuzz and distortion reminiscent of early 90s alternative rock and desert legends KYUSS, a tone that I think works perfectly well given the bands use of the organ. While not the heaviest of tones, it doesn’t overshadow the other instruments and compliments Anders Magna’ baritone vocal style quite well. If you’re looking for that North Carolina Sludge, “Color Me Blood Red” and “What’s Haunting You” demonstrate that BLOODY HAMMERS are still calling upon the demons of Dixie to churn out the groove when necessary while not compromising their own unique spin on the sound. What also stands out in these tracks is a very prominent Gothic Metal influence, particularly on “Night of the Long Knives” and “Shiver”, each displaying a powerful TYPE O NEGATIVE influence. When combined with the Stoner / Sludge, this influence makes for a combination that works much to my surprise considering I’m not quite the fan of that style.

Despite the album’s tendency to drag at times in the middle, the impressive guitar lead on “Flesh of the Lotus” sparked a powerful ending to the record culminating in the last two tracks that end this record with the right bang. The last track, “Science Fiction”, melds perfectly the aforementioned influences but adds the touch of southern country in the acoustic guitars to make it the most unexpected but most stand out track on the record. BLOODY HAMMERS succeed in achieving a multi-faceted sound while retaining the basic elements of a standard Rock band, something only talented bands can make possible. The fact that this band was able to create this sound without an overproduced album or several additional instruments is impressive to say the least. Expect big things from this band if they are able to build upon this framework.

O álbum de estréia do BLOODY HAMMERS é tão interessante quanto  eclético e único  “Spiritual Relics” é um disco dinâmico que o direito fora do portão informa ouvintes que  BLOODY HAMMERS  neste jogo para tornar a sua presença conhecida e não tenha nenhuma intenção de ser apenas mais um nome no mercado saturado como  Doom e Sludge metal .

 elogios muitas das múscias  como a faixa que abre “At the Well of Nazareth” e “The Source”de suas personalidades , paradoxalmente, escuras e vibrantes. Essas músicas têm caráter. Embora não seja o mais pesado dos tons , não ofuscar os outros instrumentos e o  vocal Anders Magna ' que são otimos. BLOODY HAMMERS ainda estão convocando os demônios , quando necessário, sem comprometer a sua própria rotação original . O que também se destaca nestas faixas é muito importante influência Gothic Metal, particularmente na“Night of the Long Knives” e “Shiver”  Quando combinado com o Stoner / Sludge , essa influência torna-se uma combinação que funciona muito para minha surpresa, considerando que eu não sou muito  fã desse estilo. (mas eu sou)

Apesar de a tendência do álbum  , por vezes  ser arrastado  , a impressionante ligação de guitarra em " Flesh da Lotus " provocou um poderoso final para o album culminando nas duas últimas faixas que terminam este registro com o estrondo direita. A última faixa , "Science Fiction " , mescla perfeitamente as influências mencionadas , mas dá o toque de país sul nas guitarras acústicas para torná-lo a faixa mais inesperado, se destacam no álbum. conseguir alcançar um som multi- facetada BLOODY HAMMERS, mantendo os elementos básicos de uma banda de rock padrão e Heavy Metal  , algo apenas bandas talentosas pode tornar possível. O fato de que esta banda foi capaz de criar esse som sem um álbum super produtor ou vários instrumentos adicionais é impressionante para dizer o mínimo. Espere grandes coisas a partir desta banda se eles são capazes de construir em cima deste quadro.

Andy Rehfeldt is at it again (the same guy behind the Radio Disney remixes, Lamb of God jazz remixes, and a whole ton of other stuff), this time creating a little bit of an Iron-Maiden-meets-some-breakdowns version of Justin Timberlake's "Suit and Tie." Surprisingly it actually works pretty well, and unlike his other remixes where the song's studio versions have been re-vamped, this version was performed live with a band.

“They were always trying to change us:” Alexia Rodreiguez on Eyes Set To Kill’s new album

Last time we checked in with alternative metal band @eyessettokill they were in the studio working on their new album Masks. In contrast to their 2011 release White Lotus, their new album sports heavier riffs, vocals and an overall feeling of what the band is evolving into. With Masks’ release date just around the corner (September 17), we asked singer/guitarist Alexia Rodriguez to let us in on a couple secrets they’ve been keeping behind closed doors. Like why they signed to Century Media, what they have in store for fans and how to handle being stung by a scorpion like a champ. (Seriously, this is a real thing.)

Hey Alexia, how’s it going?
I’m good. I just got stung by a scorpion earlier.
Really?
Yeah.
How does that happen?
I was rushing [to] one of our P.A. speakers, and there was a scorpion right underneath it and I didn’t see it. I was wearing my flip-flops, so it crawled out from under [the P.A.] and stung my pinky toe. I didn’t see it anywhere; I just felt a sting. I was like, “Oh my God, what’s happening?” Then, it just crawled away and I saw it, so I smashed it.
I’ve never even seen a scorpion in real life.
Yeah, people were like, “Wait, why didn’t you go to the hospital? Are you okay?” It’s so common here. It just hurts really bad when it first happens, but after it just feels like your limb fell asleep.
Masks is coming out via Century Media in September. Why did you guys break it off with Breaksilence Records?
We just wanted to try doing something different because Breaksilence Records was like our own label. [Considering the jump from] Suburban Noize; Suburban Noize had a lot of bands that weren’t our genre, so it was kind of weird. People were confused. We didn’t want to be associated with Kottonmouth Kings. It didn’t make sense.
Century Media have a lot of heavy musicians on their label.
Yeah, and they have a lot of female-fronted bands too, so it [was] perfect [for us] to be with them.
From what I’ve heard so far, Masks is a lot heavier. What made you want to make a heavier album?
I’ve always liked heavier stuff. I feel like [playing it] live is [a lot] of fun. When we were writing White Lotus, there were those sounds that were just revisited songs from our EPs when we first started. They were a little [rough] and all over the place. We just fixed them. We put out White Lotus for fun. It was just something we could release for fun.
I was reading about Masks and I heard you guys felt like you were wearing masks before as a band to impress others. Could you elaborate on that?
When we were unsigned, we had a lot of labels looking at us. They were like, “We want to sign you guys, but you guys need to go a different direction with your music.” I felt like they were always trying to change us. [They were] telling us how we need to be onstage, even asking us to change our names. No one really wanted to sign onto [a label that] could decide what they could mold us into. For a little bit, I felt like, in a way, we went on the label’s side to try and change our songs so we could get signed. It was the wrong thing to do obviously because there wouldn’t have been the band, but it felt like we were constantly trying to impress people to get attention.
You’re on a new label, the album has a heavier sound; it seems like you’re coming out of your shell as a band. Is this something the band wanted to do before but couldn’t?
In the past, we had other members in the band and I felt like they were always a bad influence—guitar wise, when we had [a different] guitarist. Once I became the only guitarist, I felt like everything made sense and went into the right direction. I was writing the rhythms and the [leads] after only writing a lead part over some rhythm guitar parts someone else wrote.
So you have more internal organization [within your band] than before.
Yeah. I’ve always had the vision for the band, but whenever there’s someone else—or another guitarist in the band—they always affected it. It was also a misconception of [our] music. There would be, like, a super-poppy song that one of our old members would’ve written and I’d just be like, “Nah.” I have an idea of what the band is supposed to be, and when I would be writing with other members, I felt like they were a bad influence to that idea.
What can fans expect in the future as far as direction with the music?
Masks is a good example of the type of music we were meant to write. It’s hard to tell what you’re going to change. I wrote in a lot of keys and it was too much and it was buried in the music. I had fun doing it. Maybe in the next album there will be a lot more production with keys and extra stuff.
What was your favorite part about making the album?
Working with [Steve Evetts] because he [produced] a bunch of albums that I liked growing up, so when I found out we could do it with him, I was like, “Yeah! Of course!”
With Steve were you able to use any influences from his past work on this album? Suicide Silence, Dillinger Escape Plan, etc.?
For drums, we had Alex Lopez [from Suicide Silence]. It was kind of cool because Steve had previously worked with him before. It wasn’t anything scary or new.
This is the second album with [screamer/live guitarist] Cisko, right?
He usually just screams. I think that’s one thing we’ll do more in the future. It’s like his thing. When he joined the band, he was just the screamer; we didn’t know [he liked singing]. I found out a little bit after that he’s a singer, and that’s what he used to do in his old bands at home. I was like, “That’s crazy,” and “I wish you told us that [before so] we can have you sing more.” That’s, like, his favorite thing. That’s like if I was in a band singing and someone was like, “Wait, you play guitar?” Uh, yeah, it’s my first love. I would hope my band would say, “Why don’t you play guitar more?” I think it will be cool to see if he will be able to sing more.
What’s in store for the future? Any tour plans?
Yeah, we’re doing this radio tour in September right after our release. I think we’re planning on touring for the rest of the year because we’ve had a couple months off. We just want to stay on the road and promote the album. ALT

Century Media tem um monte de Bandas  pesadas.Sim, e eles têm um monte de bandas femininas de fachada também, por isso [era] perfeito [para nós] para estar com eles.
Pelo que eu ouvi até agora, Masks é muito mais pesado. O que fez você querer fazer um álbum mais pesado?Eu sempre gostei de coisas mais pesadas. Eu sinto que  ao vivo é mais divertido. Quando estávamos escrevendo White Lotus, havia aqueles sons que foram apenas músicas revisitadas de nossos EPs quando começamos. Eles eram um pouco [áspera] . Nós apenas corrigmos .Colocamos  para se divertir. Foi apenas algo que poderia liberar para se divertir.

Você está em uma nova gravadora, o álbum tem um som mais pesado, mas parece que você está saindo de sua concha como uma banda. Isto é algo que a banda queria fazer antes, mas não poderia?No passado, tivemos outros membros da banda e eu senti que eles estavam sempre uma má influência-guitar sábio, quando tivemos a guitarrista. Depois que me tornei o único guitarrista, senti que tudo fez sentido e foi para a direção certa. Eu estava escrevendo os ritmos e os leva  depois de apenas escrever uma parte de vantagem sobre algum ritmo das guitarra

Eu escrevi um monte de chaves e foi muito e foi sepultado na música. Eu me diverti fazendo isso. Talvez no próximo álbum, haverá muito mais produção  e outras coisas extra.

Espero que a minha banda diria: "Por que você não toca mais guitarra?" Eu acho que vai ser legal para ver se ele será capaz de cantar mais.
O que está reservado para o futuro planos turnê  ?Sim, estamos fazendo essa turnê de rádio em setembro logo após o nosso lançamento. Eu acho que nós estamos pensando em turnê pelo resto do ano, porque nós tivemos um par de meses fora. Nós só queremos ficar na estrada e promover o álbum.

Nightwish - Rumores do Proximo Album ??? #Metal #ListeningNow

After completing their ambitious orchestral-flavored Imaginaerum in 2011, keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen of Nightwish says the band's new material is back to basics, and for good reason!

So in an interview with Festivalblog.be, keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen was asked about how the band were planning to follow up their 2011 release Imaginaerum. Holopainen responded with:

I don't really know what we're going to do next. I have a gut feeling that it is going to be something a bit more simple, a bit back in time… a bit more like a band album, because we have kinda searched this orchestral, really varied spectrum to its maximum now; that's how I feel. But maybe, you never know how the mind works… But I have three new songs done already, it's again something a bit different.

It's probably best the band step away from such an ambitious project with a sense of directional change, since doing something twice isn't really ambitious anymore. Plus, it'll be nice to hear Nightwish a little more back in their element again, as I'm sure a lot of fans also feel given the pretty mixed reception to Imaginaerum. Don't take my word for it, but I think we can safely assume we'll be getting the pulled-back Nightwish record sometime toward the end of 2014!

     Eu realmente não sei o que vamos fazer a seguir. Eu tenho um pressentimento de que vai ser algo um pouco mais simples, um pouco aold school ... como  alguns álbuns anteriores  da banda, , é assim que eu sentir. Mas talvez, você nunca saiba  como a minha mente funciona ... Mas eu tenho três músicas novas já feito, é novamente algo um pouco diferente.

É provavelmente o melhor da banda passo de um projeto tão ambicioso, com um sentido de mudança de direção, uma vez que fazer algo duas vezes não é muito mais ambicioso. Além disso, vai ser bom ouvir Nightwish um pouco mais dos  elementos novos, como eu tenho certeza que um monte de fãs gostaram bastante do Imaginaerum. Não tome palavra, mas acho que podemos assumir seguramente que estaremos recebendo o registro puxado de volta @nightwishband algum tempo para o final de 2014!

Electra filha do frontman do Megadeth Dave Mustaine (sim, Dave nomeou sua filha como  Electra ) apareceu em um programa de TV recentemente executando uma das músicas de sucesso do Heavy Metal   seu pai, "A Tout le Monde".

Vamos pegar , Electra Mustaine e Jason Kertson sabe que "A Tout le Monde" é sobre as suas últimas palavras antes  de morrer? Não que as outras músicas do Megadeth são cremosas em demasia e  outras coisas, mas talvez algo um pouco menos sobre a morte e tentando consolar as pessoas que você ama? Isso teria sido provavelmente bem.

O site que transmite o vídeo dá a seguinte explicação:

     Electra e Jason uniram-se para um concerto especial para beneficiar Operação Ward 57, uma organização sem fins lucrativos que ajuda os membros do serviço feridos e suas famílias. Electra e Jason realizaram sua versão da canção do Megadeth, "A Tout le Monde", em seguida, se juntaram a  Margaret a falar sobre os respectivos legados musicais de suas família e por que é importante para eles respeitar e apoiar os militares. Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine's daughter Electra (yes, Dave named his daughter Electra and his sone Justis) appeared on a TV show recently performing one of her father's hit tunes, "A Tout le Monde."
Let's get the burning question I had out there before even continuing on; do Electra Mustaine and Jason Kertson know that "A Tout le Monde" is about your last words before you're dead? Not that Megadeth's other songs are about puppies and ice cream and stuff, but maybe something a little less about dying and trying to console the ones you love? That would've probably been okay.

Electra and Jason have teamed up for a special concert to benefit Operation Ward 57, a non-profit organization that helps wounded service members and their families. Electra and Jason performed their version of the Megadeth song, “A Tout le Monde," then joined Margaret to talk about their families' respective musical legacies and why it's important for them to respect and support the military. Brittney Hamilton, founder of Operation Ward 57, shared more about the work the group does and praised Electra, Jason and other young people who take such an active role to salute and support the military.

Song choice aside, at least it's for a good cause. The performance is actually really good too, so big ups to the both of them for nailing it! Oh, and Kertson is apparently the grandson of The Sonic's Rob Lind, which answers what I'm sure you've been asking yourself this

If you haven’t got it yet, I’m a big fan of Sleepers Awake‘s latest outing Transcension — we even managed to bring you a full stream of the album to sink your teeth into. Their meandering sludgy prog creates some exceedingly heavy and catchy tracks, most notably on the climactic album closer ‘The Fulcrum‘ which is driven by the biggest ohrwurm of an opening you’ll hear all year. And now, courtesy of the beautiful people over at Metal Injection, a video for the track has been unveiled featuring the tale of a self-proclaimed ‘Evil Dude’ and ‘Righteous Babe’:

Like the album, this video was a labor of love… and I emphasize labor. Everyone involved sacrificed months of their weekends and free time to get this thing looking so good. We had a really small budget but the dedication of our crew helped us put together something that far exceeded initial expectations, something that is a true amalgamation of all of our artistic spirits. Creatively this video marks a fitting end to the Transcension chapter, an announcement to the world of who we are and what we’re all about, and a declaration of what’s to come.

God Forbid - Deus Acabou ???????? #metal #dezzer

Você está brincando comigo? The Chariot acabou em apenas algumas horas atrás e agora God Forbid depois 17 anos dedicados ao Heavy Metal os veteranos estão acabando? Que diabos está acontecendo!

 

 O guitarrista Doc Coyle deixou a banda mais cedo . Ele disse sobre sua saída da banda (o que levou a fazer isto  esta noite.

     "Lamento dizer que estou realmente deixando God Forbid. Comecei a tocar com esses caras desde que eu tinha 16 anos. Agora eu estou com 32. Você faz a matemática. Dizer isso é difícil e uma grande mudança para mim seria ser um eufemismo. foi muito emocionante e muito triste para mim, realmente seguir com isso, mas eu sinto no meu coração e na cabeça que é a coisa certa a fazer. "

Em seguida, foi a vez de o vocalista Byron Davis ', o que só piorou as coisas e as coisas praticamente confirmados ia ser ruim:

     "É sexta-feira e meu filho está em casa bem e sim, é verdade, o God Forbid acabou . Somos uma família para  mantê-la  viva no começo  da banda . Devo me sentir triste, mas eu não quero agora porque um novo capítulo começou. vou ver todos vocês em algum lugar. acreditar nisso.

E então baterista Cory Pierce colocar o último prego no caixão:

     "Não há mais suspense ... God Forbid acabou . Desculpe."

Merda ... e agora nada. Sério, todos podem ficamos juntos? Pelo menos por mais uma semana ou assim? Os corações dos fãs de música estão quebrando esta noite esquerda e direita.

Are you kidding me? The Chariot just broke up only a few hours ago and now 17-year metal veterans God Forbid are breaking up too? What the hell is going on!

Wow. It didn't start off as the band breaking up, only guitarist Doc Coyle leaving the band earlier today. He said about his departure from the band (which led to tonight's break-up):

"I am sorry to say that I am indeed leaving God Forbid. I started playing with these guys since I was 16 years old. Now I'm 32. You do the math. To say this is difficult and a big move for me would be an understatement. It has been very emotional and very sad for me to actually follow through with this, but I feel in my heart and head that it is the right thing to do."

Then it was vocalist Byron Davis' turn, which only made things worse and pretty much confirmed things were going to be bad:

"It's Friday and my boy is home doing well and yes it's true, GF is down. We are a family for the most part some move on while others keep it real like before the band began. I should feel sad but I dont right now because a new chapter has begun. I'll be seeing you all around somewhere. Believe that. Uncle Corey J needs some drums I have a guitar too for him. Blabbering."

And then drummer Cory Pierce put the final nail in the coffin:

"No more suspense… God Forbid is over. Sorry."

Well shit. They've only been getting better and better as the years went on, and their 2012 album Equilibrium was a killer… and now nothing. Seriously, can everyone just stay together? At least for another week or so? Music fans' hearts are breaking left and right tonight.

THe CHaRiOt - Banda de Hardcore Encerra Suas Atividades #Hardcore #punk

After ten years of being a band, The Chariot have announced their final tour via video announcement and attached statement.

The Chariot posted the above video, along with the following statement regarding their ending as a band:

"Thank you. To everyone on this planet Earth that has ever supported us, helped us, watched us, hung out with us, given us a place to stay, given food, prayed over us, loaned us equipment, advised us, booked us, or given us a chance, no matter how big or small…we are forever grateful."

The farewell tour will be supported by Glass Cloud, Birds In Row,To The Wind and Rebuker. Not that I grew up with the band or anything like that, but The Chariot have been around long enough to make a pretty solid mark on the rock and metal community. Five albums, one EP, over 100,000 Facebook fans, countless people attending their concerts, and now… nothing. Damn. No word on why the band are breaking up or if anyone in the band currently plan on going on to have more to do with musical projects.

A turnê de despedida será apoiado por Glass Cloud, Birds In Row,To The Wind and Rebuker.  Cresci com a banda ou qualquer coisa assim, mas The Chariot ter sido em torno de tempo suficiente para fazer uma marca bastante sólido na comunidade de rock e Heavy Metal. Cinco álbuns, um EP, mais de 100 mil fãs no Facebook, inúmeras pessoas que frequentam seus shows, e agora ... nada. Droga. Nenhuma palavra sobre o porquê da banda estão acabando  ou se alguém na banda planeja  projetos musicais.

Ministry - Al Jourgensen Em Nova Polemica Com O Metallica e Sobre sua Vida Sexual #metal

MINISTRY Frontman Once Scared METALLICA Out Of A Dressing Room By Sticking Vegetables Up His Ass

 

 

 

Eu já tinha lido  novo livro do frontman Al Jourgensen do icone do Industrial e o Heavy Metal  Ministry sentado na minha prateleira por algumas semanas agora, mas eu acho que finalmente fui convencido epois de ver este última entrevista. Anteriormente, Jourgensen disse coisas muito negativas sobre Kerry King Slayer, e alegou ter vergonha de Fred Durst, mas esta história sobre Metallica foi demais

Al estava sendo entrevistado para a nova edição da Record Collector, e um tema de seu livro sobre o Metallica veio à tona, e esta é uma imagem que eu nunca vai sair da minha cabeça:

Record Collector: Há uma história legal sobre você forçando o Metallica a desocupar seu camarim colcando  os legumes em  sua bunda e depois correu para trás deles.

     Al Jourgensen: Isso, na verdade, tem um nome: o Flying Dutchman. Eu atadquei com vegetais saindo da minha bunda. O guitarrista, Kirk Hammett, é bom. O resto deles estavam realmente com medo de mim. O vocalista  nunca mais quer me ver . Kirk foi o único que tem o humor, então eu falei com ele por um tempo.

Embora eu certamente veja  "humor" na situação, eu teria feito exatamente como James e sairia.  Aqui está outra jóia da entrevista:

     Record Collector: Foi corajoso de vocês para escrever sobre a sua experiência de um gay, quando você deu um boquete em um amigo.

     Al Jourgensen: Espere, eu dei o quê?

     Record Collector: Você deu um boquete em um dos caras em sua banda,

     Al Jourgensen: Oh sim , eu chupava pau dele antes, Jesus Cristo. Basta dar uma cara um boquete e ele está feliz.

     Record Collector: Eu gostei do jeito que você escreveu: "Isso ainda é controverso, neste dia e idade?"

     Al Jourgensen: Bem, as pessoas ainda estão assustadas com isso. Sério, eu quero dizer, você está me perguntando sobre isso. OK, sim, eu dei  uns  boquetes. Então o quê? Eu estava realmente muito bem.

I've had Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen's new book sitting on my shelf for a few weeks now, but I think I've finally been convinced into reading it after seeing this latest interview bit. Previously, Jourgensen has had very negative things to say about Slayer's Kerry King and claimed to have embarrassed Fred Durst, but this story about Metallica takes the cake…
Al was being interviewed for the new issue of Record Collector, and a topic from his book about scaring Metallica out of their shared dressing room came up, and this is an image I will never get out of my head:

Record Collector: There's a cool story about you forcing Metallica to vacate your dressing room by sticking all the vegetables on the rider up your arse and then running backwards at them.
Al Jourgensen: That actually has a name: the Flying Dutchman. I attacked them with vegetables sticking out of my ass. Their guitarist, Kirk Hammett, is good. The rest of them were really afraid of me. That singer never wants to see me again. Kirk was the only one who got the humor in Ministry, so I worked with him for a while.

While I certainly see "the humor" in the situation, I would've made just like James and headed for the hills when Uncle Al came barging through the door. Here's another gem from the interview:

Record Collector: It was courageous of you to write about your one gay experience, when you gave a buddy a blowjob.
Al Jourgensen: Wait, I gave a what?
Record Collector: You gave a blowjob to one of the guys in your early band, special affect. It's on page 48.
Al Jourgensen: Oh yeah, I've sucked dick before, Jesus Christ. If you haven't, you're really missing out. Just give a guy a blowjob and he's happy.
Record Collector: I liked the way you wrote "Is this still controversial in this day and age?"
Al Jourgensen: Well, people are still freaked out about this. Seriously, I mean, you're asking me about it. OK, yeah, I gave blowjobs. So what? I was actually pretty good.

So if you're a dude and you're ever in Texas and see Al Jourgensen walking around, ask him for one of his world-famous blowjobs.
