Bleched - The New Band From Girls of Mika Miko #Soundcloud #Tunesday

Vamos tirar isto a limpo Até agora, Jennifer e Jessica Clavin foram principalmente conhecido por cantar e tocar baixo na banda punk seminal Mika Miko. Esta informação biográfica foi algo enterrada e agora vem a  sua nova banda, Blecherd.

As irmãs foram apontadas   antes que eu possa sequer ligar o gravador. Mas as constantes referências aos seus sucessos do passado são  um selo de qualidade do que uma tentativa de ligá-los a uma época passada. Afinal de contas, quem viu Mika Miko realizar em 2003-09 hoje é controvertido . Quatro meninas incediárias e, auxiliado por saxofone e Jennifer cantando em um telefone vermelho.

 Uma se casou. Um queria se tornar um médico, e uma queria ir para a escola de arte. Em 2010 as irmãs Clavin formado Blechered.

"Nós estávamos entusiasmados para soar como bandas que você não poderia soar como como um grupo de punk tradicional", diz Jennifer em uma varanda com uma vista panorâmica sobre a parte traseira do Hollywood Hills. Clavin compartilha uma casa de cinco quartos, três andares, na  Universal City, repleta de livros, registros, arte e copos da Starbucks vazias. Sua irmã mais nova, Jessica, mora em Silver Lake.

Nós estávamos realmente entrando no  Gun Club de Johnny Thunder" Jennifer acrescenta, ostentando um, T-shirt listrada preta, shorts azuis e cabelo de pano de cor champanhe. "Blechered  é punk, mas com uma abordagem  mais rock & roll. algo entre Blondie e Siouxsie & the Banshees."

Blechered começou como um teste. Logo após Mika Miko, Jennifer Clavin fugiu para Nova York para se juntar brevemente um grupo mais denso o  Cold Cave. Dividindo seu tempo entre , ela escreveu duas canções que as irmãs e lançado em um nova gravadora pequena dirigida por Chinatown livraria de Ooga Booga.

"Nós imaginamos que forma, se  Blechered não vir a tornar-se alguma coisa, não seria um grande negócio", diz Jennifer.
Mas as canções e singles posteriores imediatamente ganhou elogios de Fader, Pitchfork e Spin. Foram oferecidos um acordo para um longa-metragem que foi lançado no mês passado,com bandas  respeitadas como indie Dead Oceans.

Let's just get this out of the way. Until now, Jennifer and Jessica Clavin have been primarily known for singing and playing bass in the seminal Smell punk band Mika Miko. This biographical information has burrowed its way to the forefront of every article written about their new band, Bleached.
The sisters point this out before I can even turn on my tape recorder. But the constant references to their past successes are more of a stamp of quality than an attempt to link them to a bygone era. After all, anyone who saw Mika Miko perform during their 2003-09 run became an instant convert. Four girls created a four-alarm blaze, aided by bleeding saxophone licks and Jennifer shout-singing into a red telephone.
Then Mika Miko pulled a Dave Chappelle, going out on top. But rather than sojourn to the ends of the Earth, the bandmates pursued routes more conventional to those in their mid- to late 20s. One got married. One wanted to become a doctor, and one wanted to go to art school. In 2010 the Clavin sisters formed Bleached.
"We were excited to sound like bands that you couldn't sound like as a traditional punk group," Jennifer says on a balcony with a panoramic view of the backside of the Hollywood Hills. Clavin shares a five-bedroom, three-story house in Universal City, filled with books, records, art and empty Starbucks cups. Her younger sister, Jessica, lives in Silver Lake.

"We were really getting into Gun Club and Johnny Thunder," Jennifer adds, sporting a black, striped T-shirt, blue cloth shorts and champagne-colored hair. "Bleached is punk but with a more rock & roll edge. It's ideally somewhere between Blondie and Siouxsie & the Banshees."
Bleached started as a test. Directly after Mika Miko, Jennifer Clavin decamped to New York to briefly join a dark-wave group called Cold Cave. Splitting her time between coasts, she wrote two songs that the Valley-raised sisters recorded and released on a new micro-label run by Chinatown bookstore Ooga Booga.
"We figured that way, if Bleached didn't turn out to become anything, it wouldn't be a big deal," Jennifer says.
But the songs and subsequent singles immediately earned praise from Fader, Pitchfork and Spin. They were offered a deal for a full-length, Ride Your Heart, which was released last month on respected indie label Dead Oceans.

NIKKI LANE-Se EnCountrydando Com Sua Musica

esta um breve biografia da cantora  Nikki Lane

Um dia glorioso nos anos atrás, uma adolescente dda época  escolar Nikki Lane  embalado com suas posses. Com uma mão firme segurando um volante e outro lançando o pássaro, ela disse que, desde a sua casa, em Greenville, Carolina do Sul, o sul e qualquer tipo de vida que ela havia sugerido que ela deveria viver. Ocidental vinculado, ela estava indo para Los Angeles para nenhuma outra razão que apenas porque.

"Você cresce no sul, você cresce em uma cidade pequena, as suas expectativas são um pouco limitado", ela diz agora. "As pessoas esperam que você vá para uma faculdade depois em quatro anos, se casar e seguir este caminho na sua  vida. Eu não sabia exatamente o que queria fazer, mas eu sabia que não estava no  caminho certo.

"Eu sempre quis morar em Nova York, e de alguma forma esta vontade acabou falando mais alta  para um trabalho realmente bem pago", diz ela. "Essa foi uma oportunidade que eu não poderia dizer não. Então eu me mudei se nem sequer tocar uma música. Foi  algo que eu só tentei uma vez. Que eu tinha escrito algumas músicas e que era a fim de tudo. "

Mas, como qualquer cantora do país, a decepção a  trouxe de volta à música quando seu namorado a deixou para gravar um álbum em Atlanta. "Era como um  foda-se", ela diz, "Porque começou  a fazer um registro em Atlanta enquanto eu estou sentado em Nova Iorque chorando? Então, sentei  com um violão, eu não tinha nada acontecendo , eu não tinha muitos amigos na cidade que não eram seus amigos, está congelando em Nova York e eu larguei meu emprego, então, basicamente por três meses, escondido no apartamento e eu escrevi. "

Em fevereiro de 2009, Nikki foi para Nashville, e  gravou um álbum auto-intitulado lançado No Room for Cowboys", e voltou a Nova York . Impressionado com suas ousadas cordas vocais e personalidade descontroladamente infecciosa, o rótulo indie florescente  Nikki se mudou para Nashville e começou a voar para  Los Angeles para escrever e gravar com os produtores David Cobb (Shooter Jennings, The Secret Sisters)   O primeiro resultado desses esforços é um EP de quatro músicas intitulado Gone, Gone, Gone, a. eYou grow up in The South, you grow up in a small town, your expectations are a little bit limited," she says now. "People expect you to go to a four-year college, get married and follow that Southern way of life. I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do but I knew it wasn't being offered to me.

"I'd always wanted to live in New York and somehow ended up talking my way into a really well paying job," she says. "That was an opportunity I couldn't say no to. And so I moved and for a year didn't even touch music. It was like something I'd just tried once. I'd written a couple songs and that was the end of it."

But like any good country singer, heartbreak brought her back to music when her boyfriend left her to record an album in Atlanta. "I was like, fuck that," she says, "Why does he get to make a record in Atlanta while I'm sitting in New York crying? So I just sat down with a guitar, I didn't have anything going on, I didn't have many friends in the city that weren't his friends, it's freezing in New York and I'd quit my job, so basically for three months I holed up in this apartment and I just wrote."

Empowered, in February, 2009, Nikki went to Nashville, recorded an album she self-released titled "No Room for Cowboys", and returned to New York a musician. That's essentially where IAMSOUND found her. Impressed with her bold vocal chops and wildly infectious personality, the flourishing indie label signed her, Nikki moved to Nashville and started flying in and out of Los Angeles to write and record with producers David Cobb (Shooter Jennings, The Secret Sisters) and Lewis Pesacov of Fool's Gold. The first result of these efforts is a four-song EP titled Gone, Gone, Gone after the opening track, a forceful farewell to The South. Says Lane, “We sat down and wanted to write something about leaving a place and being like, you'll be fine, I’m not coming back.”

As if Lane’s history weren’t enough evidence of her well-proven knack for leaving, on her arm rests a tattoo that reads, “Wanderlust calls again.” “I feel like everyday I might be better off if I could get up and go,” she says. “I've had a really hard time staying put because the different scenery is what's inspiring.”

Throughout her contemporary classic country ballads she plays the rambler and sometimes drunkard with such an ardent aptitude she’d fit right in alongside those icons in whose songs she was able to find her own voice.

Lane now lives in Nashville where she also owns and operates a vintage boutique called High Class Hillbilly, selling pieces she has collected while touring the country.

The Gone, Gone, Gone EP will be released on IAMSOUND July 19, 2011.

um metal tão viceral  e tão supreendente que pode até não ser a melhor banda

do mundo mas tem tudo pra ser a mais importante

Muitos podem pensar que Kollwitz como uma banda de metal, apesar de se sentirem casa como uma banda de  hardcore punk, post-rock e outros gêneros experimentais; uma paisagem sonora em que tentamos encontrar algo comum entre as fontes de inspiração que aparentemente não possuem nenhuma similaridade.

Many might think of Kollwitz as a metal band, although we feel as much at home in hardcore punk, post-rock and other experimental genres; a soundscape where we try to find common cause between sources of inspiration that seemingly have none.

GERILJA- The New Glam Rock??

 Dave Mustaine e Marc Bolan tiveram um filho, (não considerando questões biológicas etc.ou seja um LOL) seria Aleks, vocalista / guitarrista  do GERILJA. ou  Simon (baixo ) e Aleks sãoirmãos , eu acho que Dave e Marc deve ser responsável por eles também. Ninguém sabe realmente onde Ottar vem, mas ele tem dentes de ouro e os bebês os amam então quem se importa?

A valorização do Gerija que usa os  sintetizadores e baterias eletrônicas de epocas antigas um som muito hard rock com a  intensidade do Megadeth adicinado ao T-rex e sua groove e elegância, acrescentando sintetizadores  ficção cientifica  e um monte de outras coisas também. OMG!
2012 marca o fim da humanidade, mas você sabia que ele também é o ano oficial da G? Enquanto  álbum novo  com faixas de topo como “lightning death”, new life in the blast zone”,", animals, “the source” e  “mirage” pode fazer com um ano  bom e viajar através dos tempos do fim para  , é fundamental que você acelerar o seu jogo  antes que seja tarde demais!

And since Simon (lead bass) and Aleks are bros, I guess Dave and Marc must be responsible for him as well. ion with the G's appreciation for old synthesizers and drum machines = a pretty rad sound..merging early Megadeth-style intensity with T-rex groove and flair, adding a tsp of synthesized sci-fi and a lot of other stuff as well. OMG!
2012 marks the end of mankind, but did you know that it's also the official year of the G? Whilst a fresh album packed with top tracks like “lightning death”, “new life in the blast zone”, “animals”, “the source” and “mirage” may make for a year of smooth sailing through the end times for the G, it's paramount that YOU step up your game and get aboard the G-shuttle before it's too late!!

NUDE BEACH- Candidatos A Serem Uma banda Cult

In researching for this post, I did a lot of reading about the psuedo insane, drug addled, ups and downs of Roky Erickson’s life, and it did nothing to inspire me towards writing about his set tonight.  Don’t get me wrong, there are some great reads about it out there, like Sean Maloney’s classic write up about robbing a craft store or the always fun caption contests, but that isn’t why I am sitting here penning (typing) this little ditty.  I’m here to talk about Nude Beach.
I’ve been tracking the rise of Nude Beach for the past year or so, and I always find myself thoroughly in cheer with that effort.  Nude Beach started out like most high school aged bands did, in the basement of the most tolerant set of parents.  There you create a nice psychedelic garage pop sound, move to Brooklyn, circulate a cassette to anyone that will listen, sign to a label, record a new record, sign to a new label, rerelease previous efforts, and the blogs will tell the world that you are relevant because you make music that doesn’t suck.  The next thing you know you find yourself touring with a probable legend from the above said tolerant parent’s dusty vinyl collection.  If you don’t know Nude Beach, have a listen to “Some Kinda Love” & “Walkin’ Down My Street” below & then watch the beer-swilling tour video journal that accompanies “Radio”.
Things get started around 8pm, and you can grab your tickets here.  If you decide to stick around for Roky Erickson, make sure you keep your wallet close at hand just in case Mr. Maloney is stalking around the crowd.

Ao pesquisar para este post, eu fiz um monte de leitura sobre os altos e baixos da vida Roky Erickson, e ele não fez nada para me inspirar para escrever sobre sua noite. Não me interpretem mal, há algumas grandes leituras sobre isso lá fora, como o clássico Sean Maloney escrever sobre roubar uma loja de artesanato ou as competições de legenda sempre divertido, mas não é por isso que eu estou sentado aqui escrevendo (digitação), este cançoneta. Estou aqui para falar sobre praia de nudismo.


Tenho acompanhado a ascensão do Nude Beach no ano passado , e eu sempre me fizerma ter esta  alegria . Nude Beach começou como a maioria das bandas da epoca escolar dentro do  porão.  um som pop psicodélico agradável de garagem,vindo do Brooklyn, circulavam com uma cassete para alguém  ouvir, assinaram com uma gravadora, gravaram um novo álbum, assinaram com uma nova gravadora, e os blogs vão dizer ao mundo que são relevantes porque você faz música que não gruda. A próxima coisa que você sabe que você vai encontra-los em turnê com uma lenda da  coleção do seu pai tolerante com seus vinis empoeirado. Drawing influence from artists such as Quicksand, Swervedriver, Drive Like Jehu, Hot Water Music and the Afghan Whigs, the mission is clear: Wolves Like Us are here to make the urgent, powerful new music that they love.

th Prosthetic Records at the start of 2011 and immediately began recording ‘Late Love’ in Oslo with Ruben Willem (Haust / Caliban Studios). WLU then embarked upon a European tour in July with reformed San Diego hardcore legends, Swing Kids, played the main stage at 2011 OYA Festival in Norway before heading back out on a second European tour with Kvelertak in the Autumn of 2011.

In 2012 they will start focusing on writing new material and in April/may they are back in the van doing a full co-headline European tour with their label mates on Prosthetic - Junius. WLU expect recording a new release on Prosthetic late 2012, preceeding a full length album planned to be recorded in spring of 2013.

BUTTER THE CHILDREN-- Novidades sobre Novo lançamento

Butter the Children is the byproduct of four members from four distinctly but differently noisy bands (Night Manager, Sweet Bulbs, Le Rug, and Red Dwarf) coming together and it shows. The guitar equally roars like a buzz saw and produces spacy, shoegaze riffs, while the bass rumbles in the background along with the drums clatter and bang together. And all this connected together by the sickly sweet vocals of front women Inna Mkrtycheva, which arrive with a near pop-punk delivery, but manage to pack a subtle emotional punch to them as well. There was more than a chance that they four distinct styles would not be able to gel at all, but all Butter the Children show on their debut EP, not only can they work together, they can make something sort of magical. All the tracks are quick, less than 3 minute long burst of punk energy and indie rock mixed with a healthy chunk of post-shoegaze hooks.  

      Opener “Robyn Byrd” pretty much encapsulates the band’s sound jumping from memorizing and bent guitar chords and emotional lyrics to (semi)quieter, cleaner sections that balance out the song. The EP also makes clear the darker and twisted elements of the band (just look at the cover art), like on the moody “Flesh Wound in Ithaca” or damaged-pop of “Rochelle Rochelle”. Then there is likes of closer “Lupus”, which feels like a more explosive take on the dreamy-pop Reading Rainbow use to make, and happens to be two minutes of pure noise-pop bliss. Butter the Children’s debut is a short but sucker-punch of an EP, a breath of fresh-air that reminds how great guitar pop, indie rock, and noise can be blended together just right.

Butter The Children é um quarteto das mais  diferente bandas barulhentas (Night Manager, Sweet Bulbs, Le Rug, and Red Dwarf). Ligados entre si por voz adocicado da vocaIista  Mkrtycheva, que chegam com uma entrega de pop-punk, mas consegue embalar emocionalmente  para eles também Havia mais de uma chance que eles quatro  sejam tão  distintos não seria capaz de mas Butter The Children e mostram em seu EP de estreia, que  só eles podem trabalhar juntos, eles podem fazer algo tipo mágico. Todas as faixas são rápidos, menos de 3 minutos com  energia punk e indie rock misturado com um pedaço de saudável pós-shoegaze .

Alan Moore, the writer of Watchmen and V for Vendetta, recently released a track for Occupy Wall Street, and now he's got even more music to share. Moore has collaborated with Mitch Jenkins on a new short film called Jimmy's End, which premieres November 25.
For the film, Moore wrote the lyrics for a track called "Queen of Midnight", which features vocals from TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe. It also features instrumentals from Moore's Unearthing collaborators Doseone and Andrew Broder (of Fog), aka Crook & Flail. (In the film, the song is credited to "Vince Shannon & The Black Notes.")
