"I don't want to get pigeonholed as a 'doom' band," Windhand guitarist Garrett Morris says. "Led Zeppelin had heavy songs and acoustic songs, all kinds of different stuff. That's kind of what we're trying to get to."
Despite his intentions, the Virginia group's second album, Soma, is a doomsayer's dream. Full of epic opuses — how about a 30-minute closing number? — it finds the group doling out extra heavy riffs at a snail's pace, augmented with piercing feedback and the spooky vocals of frontwoman Dorthia Cottrell. "It's a style of music that found us," Morris says of why his band has taken this direction. "I feel like when the music is a little bit slower, you can almost see it. It takes longer to absorb. You can hear the crunching of the guitars and the way things are vibrating and moving. It's almost like bees buzzing. That's the way I've always enjoyed music."
Fittingly, the album itself is a bit of a mystery. The guitarist says it's a concept album, with the lyrics and the cover art playing off each other, but he won't explain. Instead, we have to try and decipher Cottrell's words by picking out what we can from the purposefully murky vocals. "At some point we might release the lyrics, but probably not anytime soon," Morris says.

"Orchard"
I think that was one of the first songs we wrote for the new record. I thought it was a little bit poppier than our other stuff, but it could be cool. The bridge is an almost cheesy pop-punk riff.

Following the release of their critcially acclaimed new album 'Thoughts Of A Rising Sun' GraViL headline the Takeover stage at Download Festival 2013.

No strangers to the music world, GraViL have already featured in Kerrang, Terrorizer and Rock Sound magazines and radio airplay including Ian Camfield's XFM rock show. 'Thoughts Of A Rising Sun' was recorded late 2012 at Escape Route Studios in London with acclaimed producer Dan Abela (Gallows, Bleed From Within, Voices, Silent Descent). Abela has taken GraViL's awesome raw power, giving it a feeding frenzy of steriods and nuturing the capsule of songs into a collosal, snarling landscape of aggression, pace and melody. Highlights include the single 'Enemy Within' (a melodic almost 'core' track) whilst in contrast the harsh un-commercial 'Beyond Reprieve' is brutal and 'Bottle Of Shadows' encapsulates everything GraViL represent with plenty of melody and sledgehammer riffs and hooks.

Vocalist Grant Stacey is rightly proud of 'Thoughts Of A Rising Sun' - "Yes the album is uncompromised melodic and aggressive death/industrial metal but at the same time we wanted to push the envelope to the point of tearing it, we also wanted to make a point with the lyrical content about us as human beings. Butcher Babies - Tour ao Lado Do Lendário Danzing #Metal #dezeer #rock

Hailed as the breakout band on the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, the Butcher Babies will be direct support for punk and metal legend Danzig on his upcoming October tour (complete itinerary below), and will be taking their incendiary live show to the high seas in January 2014, when they join Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, In This Moment, Lacuna Coil, Device, Sevendust and more on the Shiprocked cruise.

The final leg of the Danzig 25th Anniversary tour launches October 8 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and will feature Butcher Babies in direct support, with openers A Pale Horse Names Death (featuring members of Type O Negative and Life Of Agony) and Texas Hippie Coalition, as well as a special Misfits set featuring Danzig's former Misfits bandmate Doyle. The tour will be a highlight of the 20th annual Rock And Shock convention October 19 in Worcester, MA, with Otep, New Years Day and Stolen Babies also added to that day's lineup.

Butcher Babies will perform September 14 at the Monster Energy Aftershock festival in Sacramento, CA, and are a featured artist at Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare on October 26. Appropriate for a song titled "Loose," frontwoman Inna Mkrtycheva sounds like she's falling through the sky, strands of her usually clear, streamlined voice unravelling as she barrels through the guitar noise. Bloody Hammers - Novo Album "Spiritual Relics" #Video #Metal

Straight out of Transylvania County (nice touch) is the debut album from BLOODY HAMMERS, an outfit whose brand of doom is as interesting as it is eclectic and as unique as it is refreshing. “Spiritual Relics” is a dynamic record that right out of the gate informs listeners that BLOODY HAMMERS are in this game to make their presence known and have no intention of being just another name in the over saturated market of Doom and Sludge Metal.

Organist Devallia’s playing compliments many of the pieces very well and gives early tracks like “At the Well of Nazareth” and “The Source” their paradoxically dark and vibrant personalities. These songs have character. They have a certain touch that other bands don’t simply because BLOODY HAMMERS do what so many bands forget to and use to their advantage the elements that make them unique. “At the Well of Nazareth’s” guitar tone, whether intentional or not, has a fuzz and distortion reminiscent of early 90s alternative rock and desert legends KYUSS, a tone that I think works perfectly well given the bands use of the organ. While not the heaviest of tones, it doesn’t overshadow the other instruments and compliments Anders Magna’ baritone vocal style quite well. If you’re looking for that North Carolina Sludge, “Color Me Blood Red” and “What’s Haunting You” demonstrate that BLOODY HAMMERS are still calling upon the demons of Dixie to churn out the groove when necessary while not compromising their own unique spin on the sound. What also stands out in these tracks is a very prominent Gothic Metal influence, particularly on “Night of the Long Knives” and “Shiver”, each displaying a powerful TYPE O NEGATIVE influence. When combined with the Stoner / Sludge, this influence makes for a combination that works much to my surprise considering I’m not quite the fan of that style.

Despite the album’s tendency to drag at times in the middle, the impressive guitar lead on “Flesh of the Lotus” sparked a powerful ending to the record culminating in the last two tracks that end this record with the right bang. The last track, “Science Fiction”, melds perfectly the aforementioned influences but adds the touch of southern country in the acoustic guitars to make it the most unexpected but most stand out track on the record. BLOODY HAMMERS succeed in achieving a multi-faceted sound while retaining the basic elements of a standard Rock band, something only talented bands can make possible. The fact that this band was able to create this sound without an overproduced album or several additional instruments is impressive to say the least. Expect big things from this band if they are able to build upon this framework.

O álbum de estréia do BLOODY HAMMERS é tão interessante quanto  eclético e único  “Spiritual Relics” é um disco dinâmico que o direito fora do portão informa ouvintes que  BLOODY HAMMERS  neste jogo para tornar a sua presença conhecida e não tenha nenhuma intenção de ser apenas mais um nome no mercado saturado como  Doom e Sludge metal .

 elogios muitas das múscias  como a faixa que abre “At the Well of Nazareth” e “The Source”de suas personalidades , paradoxalmente, escuras e vibrantes. Essas músicas têm caráter. Eles têm um certo toque que outras bandas não simplesmente porque BLOODY HAMMERS entre  tantas bandas e se esqueça de usar a seu favor os elementos que as tornam únicas . "At the Well of Nazareth” tem um tom de guitarra, intencional com ditorção  fuzz que lembra o  início dos anos 90 o rock alternativo e do e a lenda KYUSS , um tom que eu acho que funciona muito bem , dadas as bandas que usam o órgão. Embora não seja o mais pesado dos tons , não ofuscar os outros instrumentos e o  vocal Anders Magna ' que são otimos. BLOODY HAMMERS ainda estão convocando os demônios , quando necessário, sem comprometer a sua própria rotação original . O que também se destaca nestas faixas é muito importante influência Gothic Metal, particularmente na“Night of the Long Knives” e “Shiver”  Quando combinado com o Stoner / Sludge , essa influência torna-se uma combinação que funciona muito para minha surpresa, considerando que eu não sou muito  fã desse estilo. (mas eu sou)

Apesar de a tendência do álbum  , por vezes  ser arrastado  , a impressionante ligação de guitarra em " Flesh da Lotus " provocou um poderoso final para o album culminando nas duas últimas faixas que terminam este registro com o estrondo direita. A última faixa , "Science Fiction " , mescla perfeitamente as influências mencionadas , mas dá o toque de país sul nas guitarras acústicas para torná-lo a faixa mais inesperado, se destacam no álbum. conseguir alcançar um som multi- facetada BLOODY HAMMERS, mantendo os elementos básicos de uma banda de rock padrão e Heavy Metal  , algo apenas bandas talentosas pode tornar possível. O fato de que esta banda foi capaz de criar esse som sem um álbum super produtor ou vários instrumentos adicionais é impressionante para dizer o mínimo. Espere grandes coisas a partir desta banda se eles são capazes de construir em cima deste quadro.

Butter the Children play around their hometown a lot (like the two shows they played over the weekend), and as usual they have plenty more coming up. You can see them on Friday (8/2) at The Ho_se in Bushwick with Jesse Cooper Levy, Swear and Shake, Cutters, and O'Great North; August 5 at The Paper Box with Violent Past and Czech Neck (tickets); August 12 at Cake Shop with The Numerators and Wimps; a record release show at 285 Kent (8/20) on the day of the album's release; and the previously discussed show at Cake Shop on August 24 with Bent Shapes, Gross Relations, and Two Inch Astronaut.

We all knew that the perpetual motion machine that is Ty Segall would be releasing multiple efforts this year: it was just a matter of the what and when. In addition to his solo release out in August, he is logging in time with his Deep Purple-channeling power trio for a self-titled full length this fall. He is behind the drum kit for this one, laying the bricks and letting his band mates administer the psychedelics.

Um pouco mais sinistro do que os anteriores  o @STRAIGHTARROWS e  Tad Snarls nesta  armadilhas. Desespero sobre dissecação detalhada. s. Mais atitude, menos problemas. Exatamente o que você / me / todos esperavam que fosse a direção re-alinhamento das setas como eles cabeça para que o seu  segundo LP.

 

Never Enough é apenas uma provocação, porém, parte de uma oferta de pista dupla que está disponível agora mais no Bandcamp com uma  moeda de dois dólares ou 0,6 Bitcoins. A versão também está disponível em formato não-digital, como parte de edição limitada "Hozac Records 7" .  permanecendo cópias.

A tad more sinister than previous offerings and/or Tad. Snarls over snares. Despair over detailed dissection. Urgency and urghs over apprehension and ah-ahs. More attitude, less problems. Exactly what you/me/everyone hoped would be the re-aligned direction of the Arrows as they head towards that forever-coming 2nd LP.

Never Enough is just a tease though, part of a double-track offering that's available now over on Bandcamp for a two dollar coin and/or 0.6 Bitcoins. The release is also available in non-digital format as part of Hozac Records' limited-edition 7" club. Scar The Martyr - The New Band from Slipknot Drummer is The Support on Danzing Aniversary's #Metal

As datas de lançamento do album do Scar The Martyr, o novo supergrupo  liderado pelo Joey Jordison  baterista da banda Slipknot será em outubro  via Roadrunner Records.

O album terá o titulo anunciado, lançamento já dizem que terá faixas e se primeiro video lançado na proxima semana previament  anunciada que a banda será a banda de abertura da  tour de  25 anos da comemoração da carreira de Danzing.
 Participam da banda Joey Jordison',Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad) e Kris Norris (Darkest Hour),tecladista é  Joey Blush  e o  baixista Kyle Konkiel (In This Moment), e Henry Derek Bonner (Blood Promise).

The release date has been set for the debut album from Scar The Martyr, the new supergroup led by Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison, for October 1st via Roadrunner Records (of course.) We have all the deets!
The album title has still not been announced, but the press release that is being passed around says that the album's track listing and first video will be released in the coming weeks. As previously announcedm the band will be playing direct support on  Danzig's 25 Anniversary Tour.
In addition to Joey Jordison's badassery, the band also features Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad) and Kris Norris (Darkest Hour), keyboardist Joey Blush and bassist Kyle Konkiel (In This Moment), and Henry Derek Bonner (Blood Promise).

Grata supresa 2 Ton Bug  a banda tem muito do Garage punk do Pussycat The Dirty Johssons, Black Lips um som sujo  e totalmente maravilhoso vale a pena conhecer ouvi grande parte das musicas via  band camp e realmente valeu cada nota. destaco a Reign Of the Rat muito boa .

O quarteto garage punk 2 Ton Bug solta seu novo álbum em  alta potência, é uma vida maravilhosa, . Esta 9 faixas  explosivas  do rock sujo exagerado fará você se sentir como se as bebidas energéticas, ee fazer furo em seu ouvido . É divertido, espástico, e forte, mas ao mesmo tempo firme e coeso.

2 Ton Bug como um todo são uma grande banda chutando todas as merdas ', mas eu especialmente gostei muito do  trabalho das guitarras. O baterista bate em seu kit como Popeye  quando come  seu espinafre com alta velocidade, enquanto mestre do slides detona as seis cordas, como sua vida dependesse disso.

É uma vida maravilhosa enquanto freneticamente olham para uma pilha dos  álbum de Sade para acalmar seus nervos. Se você não tem nenhuma dessas coisas em torno de seu apartamento, foda-se - apenas manter girando-o, porque os efeitos desorientadores do álbum bater o inferno fora da retirada.

Dumpster punk foursome 2 Ton Bug let loose their high-powered new album, It's A Wonderful Life, early yesterday, which forced me to spend the rest of my afternoon trying to push my wig forward to its regular place. This 9 track blast of overwrought trash rock will make you feel like you parachuted an 8-ball, shotgunned 3 Monster energy drinks, and then jammed a maxed out Sybian into your ear hole in succession. It's fun, spastic, and loud but at the same time tight and cohesive.

2 Ton Bug as a whole are a great shit kickin' band, but I especially dig their drum and swamp-sloshed guitar work. The drummer slams on his kit like he has Popeye-like forearms and spikes his spinach with speed, while slide-master-smooth on the six-string shreds like his life depended on it. 

It's A Wonderful Life will leave you with "the shakes" while you frantically look for a pile of benzodiazepines and a Sade album to calm your nerves. If you don't have any of those things around your apartment, fuck it-- just keep spinning it because the disorienting effects of the album beat the hell out of the withdrawal.
