Mastadon - Na Trilha Sonora do Monsters University???

So here’s some weird news: according to Metal Insider — and a number of other reputable sites — yesterday, while we were running our year-end lists, Mastodon announced via Facebook that they’re contributing a song to Monsters University, Pixar’s upcoming prequel to 2001′s Monsters, Inc. The post has seen been removed from said Facebook page, so I guess Mastodon jumped the gun in making the announcement.
While this will be neither Mastodon’s first foray into animation nor soundtrack work — they contributed a song to the Aqua Teen Movie and scored 2010′s abysmal Jonah Hex — this will be, to the best of my knowledge, the first time the band has waded into the territory of children’s cinema. And I can’t think of a better band to do it, what with their lofty concept albums about Moby Dick and mythical creatures and their proclivity for drinking heavily.
I kid, I kid. I’m actually beyond curious to hear what this little collaboration sounds like. I guess we’ll find out next year, when Monsters University is released. But if they get Billy Crystal and John Goodman, who voice the film’s star monsters, to contribute vocals, I’m pretty sure it will be the best Mastodon song ever, or, at least, the one most appealing to people over the age of fifty.




Então aqui está uma notícia estranha: de acordo com Metal Insider - e uma série de outros sites de boa reputação - Ontem, enquanto estávamos correndo com as listas  de ano, Mastodon anunciou via Facebook que estão contribuindo com uma música para Monster University, próximo prequel da Pixar para 2001 do Monsters Inc. após este fato a notícia foi removido da Fan page da banda, então eu acho que Mastodon se precipitou  ao fazer o anúncio.

Embora esta seja a primeira incursão do Mastodon nem em trabalho de animação, nem trilha sonora - que contribuiu com uma canção para o filme Aqua Teen e marcou Hex 2010 de Jonas Abismal - este será, para o meu conhecimento, a primeira vez que a banda vai fazer algo para as crianças no cinema. E eu não consigo pensar em uma banda melhor para fazê-lo, já  seus álbuns conceituais  sobre Moby Dick e criaturas míticas.




 Na verdade, estou curioso para ouvir além do que esta breve colaboração parece. Eu acho que nós vamos descobrir o próximo ano, quando  Monsters University  é liberado. Mas se eles e Billy Crystal e John Goodman, que fazem as vozes do monstros do filme da estrela, de contribuir nos vocais, eu tenho certeza que vai ser a melhor canção do Mastodon.
